Catching Up.

It’s been a while since my last full post. A lot has happened since then!

Our baby girl was born in September, that has kept us pretty busy! My family came out to visit over Christmas which was awesome! I loved every minute of that! Unfortunately, my uncle passed away and we’ve had some difficult medical issues pop up for the family.

But all in all we’re doing well and things are great! Work is still a bit dull, but I’ve been skilling up my IT and Cybersecurity knowledge. I’ll be on parental leave in April for 6ish months and that’s prime time to look for a new job in development and/or Cybersecurity. I’ve been reading a ton of books. I’m hoping to go over each of them and write down some of my thoughts because there have been some real bangers lately! Here’s a few I can remember:

Zero Day and Fail State by John Birmingham

Brutal Kunnin’ and Da Big Dakka by Mike Brooks

Some of these were very good and others were absolutely incredible!

Been playing some great video games lately too! Pokémon Arceus is awesome, Mini Motorways is a perfectly designed game that’s super addictive, Chess on chess.com is also wicked, and I tried out Palworld the other day. It’s way more than just Pokémon with guns! We will see how it continues!

Over Christmas I managed to convince my brother to play some LAN matches of the RTS Warcraft II. Such a sick game! Brutally difficult once you have more than 2 computer opponents though… we lost a lot of games until we figured it out! Ha!

Anyways, I think your all caught up! Hopefully I’ll be blogging about a wider number of subjects going forward. Watch this space! 👉 😎 👉
